Happy Birthday! A Brownie in a Jar

So it was my beautiful friend's birthday last week. Lena turned sweet sixteen! She's so grown up! ...I can't even remember my 16th birthday ;)

As I love to prepare food in jars I thought of baking a brownie in a jar. And it turned out very well!

Yay!

You need

Dough

2 jars that fit 500ml each
115g soft butter
80g icing sugar
2 eggs
100g dark chocolate
80g flour
1 tsp baking powder
80g of pecans

Cream Cheese Frosting

125g cream cheese
30g soft butter
30g icing sugar
sugar sprinkles

Directions

1. Butter the jars.
2. Melt the butter completely in a pot. 3. Add 80g of sugar and stir until dissolved. 4. Melt 80g of chocolate over a hot water bath.

Now you need a handheld electric mixer.

5. Pour the hot chocolate over the butter-sugar mixture and mix thoroughly.
6. Add the eggs and mix.
7. Add flour and baking powder. If the mixture is too doughy just add a bit of milk.

Uuuhhh so many pictures! I love to cook and bake and take photos of the things I make.

8. Chop pecans (leave some aside for decoration) and rest of the chocolate.
9. Mix in the nuts and chocolate.
10. Pour the mixture in to the prepared jars.
11. Evenly decorate some nuts on the top surface.

12. Bake at 190 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes and then leave aside to cool.

13. Cream together cream cheese, butter and sugar.
14. Use an icing bag to decorate the brownies with the frosting and add sprinkles and a pecan nut on top.

This brownie was so delicious (says Lena lol) !!

And it is the perfect birthday gift :)
