Banana Maple Pecan Porridge

...just thank me later for this easy and delicious recipe lol

Porridge.

The perfect breakfast for this shitty cold weather.

Hey, it's September and it is freakin cold and rainy!

Porridge has so many amazing benefits & I feel like no one really eats it for breakfast. It is totally forgotten.

What, whaaatt? Yes. See here:

1. Porridge is so so soooo filling.
2. The full feeling helps you avoid mid morning snacks and prevents you from overeating.
3. Muscles recovery after a workout (thank you, phosphorus!)
4. Make it with water to keep the calories low.
5.
Porridge contains a high amount of complex carbs. Digestion is slow and this gives a long gradual release of energy.
6. High in vitamin A and minerals.
7. Oats are high in fibre and help lower cholestrol.
8. Cheap, easy and quick to make.
9. YUMMIE!

You need

40 grams oats
1 banana
water or milk of choice (I use almond milk)
some pecan nuts
1-2 tbsp maple syrup
fruits, nuts, seeds...of choice

Directions

1. Place oats and milk or water in a pan over medium heat.
2. Simmer and stir often to get a smooth porridge.
3. Mash the banana.
3. Chop pecans into small pieces (leave some out for decoration).
4. Stir banana, pecans and maple syrup through the porridge for 2 minutes.
5. Serve in a bowl with pecans on top.
6. You can add more fruit, nuts,...use whatever you like.

I served my special TBB porridge with prickly pear, kiwi, bee pollen, gojis, coconut chips and a tsp of my homemade cashew butter.

If you don't want to boil the oats, then soak them. Here are the benefits of soaking your oats :)
