A New Year, A New You!

After christmas cookies, chips, lots of chocolate, alcohol, a not-so-healthy Stockholm trip, NYE...

I feel like I need a smoothie/juice cleanse. You too?

Juices are hydrating to your skin and hair. You will glow and feel better after the juice cleanse, I promise.

Let's get rid of all the toxins in your body and start the new year with a new you! 

This is what you need for the next 3 days: 


  • Start your day with a green juice at 7am (scroll down for recipe). And please: no caffeinated beverage if possible.
  • Every 1 1/2 hours (from 8.30am - 4pm) drink 250 ml of the juice of the day. Every juice recipe should make 1,5 liters of juice = 6 servings. Drink lots of water in between.
  • Have the smoothie at 5.30pm (recipe is below).

Juice Cleanse Day 1

7am: have a green juice first to get the morning glow! (scroll down for recipe)

Juice of the day
Juice 3 tomatoes, 3 large carrots, 3 apples, 2 cucumber, 1-3 small beetroot. Add juice of 3 lemons. 
This should make 6 servings - if not, just add water.
Drink it every 1 1/2 hours, so from 8.30am - 4pm.

Drink the smoothie at 5.30pm. (see recipe below)

Juice Cleanse Day 2

Green juice at 7am. 

Juice of the day
Juice 6 large carrots, 2 cucumber, 1/2 pineapple, 3 apples, Add juice of 3 lemons.
Drink 250 ml every 1 1/2 hours from 8.30am - 4pm.

Smoothie at 5.30pm

Juice Cleanse Day 3

Green juice at 7am. 

Juice of the day
Juice 3 apples, 3 bell peppers (no green ones), 3 celery stalks, 2 cucumber, 1 ginger root. Add juice of 3 lemons and 3 oranges.

Smoothie at 5.30pm

Green juice 
Juice 1 apple, 1/3 cucumber, 2 celery stalks, a handful spinach, a bit parsley and some leaves of kale. Add water if needed. 

I followed the ingredients by Suja Juice. It's the juice "Vanilla Cloud" which seems to be very popular and tastes like a dessert.
Blend 100 ml almond milk, 100 ml coconut milk, 50ml water, cinnamon, 1 tsp honey. You can add 1/2 ripe banana or use it instead of the honey if you like.

You can do the juice cleanse and still consume food (not too much of course). You are allowed to eat 250 grams of protein a day. This will help you to reach your goal easily without starving. If you feel hungry, I recommend eating an avocado or lean proteins like almonds, chickpeas, lentils or mixed veggies or some berries.

And: no alcohol, any kind of sweets, fast food, processed food...we want to rid our body of toxins, right?!

      Danke :) cool, dass du den Cleanse ausprobierst!
      Ich würde mich eher an proteinreiche Nahrungsmittel wie Ei, Fisch, Linsen, Bohnen halten. Zwar enthalten Linsen und Bohnen auch viel Stärke (wie Kartoffeln) aber eben um einiges mehr Proteine.

  3. Hey :) ich frage mich ob es einen Unterschied zwischen saft und smoothie gibt? Gibst du die saft rezepte in einen entsafter oder mixt du auch einfach alles wie bei einem smoothie?

    1. Hi! Ich geb alles in einen Entsafter. Dabei werden die festen von den flüssigen Pflanzenteilen getrennt. Ein Smoothie wäre viel zu breiig. Der Vanilla Cloud Smoothie ist wirklich ein Smoothie und wird gemixt.

  5. There's plenty of nutrients important for great skin health, and I won't list them all here. One to mention though is omega 3 oils. You probably know about omega 3 already, but didn't realize that it's great for skin health too.
