Raw Vegan Nutella

Nutellaaaaa! Who doesn't like Nutella?! This is the healthier version of the Italian hazelnut spread: raw vegan 'nutella' yum!  

  • 1 cup hazelnuts
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp raw cocoa powder


1. Roast the hazelnuts for about 10 minutes
at 180 degrees Celcius in the oven. This is to remove the bitter tasting skin. Make sure you don't burn the nuts!

2. Let hazelnuts cool down. Then place them in a damp teatowel and wrap it up. Rub nuts with the teatowl to remove the skins. 

3. Place nuts in a food processor and blend. Keep it spinning for some seconds, then scrape the nut paste from the sides, spin again, stop and scrape until nut butter constistency.  

4. Add salt, raw cocoa powder and maple syrup and blend until creamy. Patience is the key ;) 

5. Aaaaaand voila! Store in a jar in the fridge :)
