Skinny Chai Syrup Recipe
CHAI TEA LATTE LOVERS OUT THERE!
I have a super delicious recipe for you xx
Mmmmhh I love the smell of chai tea. When I made the syrup my entire apartment smelled like christmas.
I was always obsessed with Chai Tea Latte by Starbucks. And then I found out the Starbucks version contains honey and million grams of sugar. Same with the Mc Cafe Chai Tea Latte. Ugh.
Chai Tea Latte & Matcha Latte are my favorite warm drinks right now. Snow has fallen this week and Christmas is soon...I am in the Christmas spirit already and you can't stop me lol. I also made Christmas cookies yesterday and many baking sessions will follow. Aww. Is it too early to listen to Christmas songs?
Honey Bunnies, you will love a mug of spices withwarm plant milk while you sit on the couch watching Home Alone ;)
You'll need
8 cups water (2 liter)
1/3 cup brown sugar
10 bags of black tea
3 star anise
3 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp cinnamon
1 piece of ginger (2 cm)
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
some whole cloves
A chai tea syrup with lots of benefits!
Cardamom: contains antioxidants and lowers blood pressure.
Black tea: lowers a risk of a stroke & contains polyphenols which are antioxidants and it improves the immune system.
Ginger: one of the healthiest spices on the planet! It has anti-inflammatory effects and it may reduce muscle pain and soreness.
Cinammon is loaded with antioxidants! And it has anti-inflammatory properties.
Nutmeg: it detoxfies the body and increases the immune system.
Directions
Bring water and sugar to a boil. Add tea bags and spices and turn off the heat a bit. After 7 minutes remove the tea bags. Turn the heat back on and bring water to a boil. Stir syrup frequently (it's not a thick syrup!). After 15 minutes strain the tea syrup. Voilà! Store the chai tea syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks.
